Dr. Jaclyn Kovach is a medical retina specialist and Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute Naples where she has lived for the past 13 years. In an effort to bring cutting-edge treatments for retina disease to the Naples community, Dr. Kovach created a Clinical Trial Center at BPEI Naples in 2016.  In addition to pursuing her mission of excellence in patient care, Dr. Kovach has created and directs a rotation for medical students, a medical retina fellowship based at BPEI Naples, and an annual retina conference that draws retina specialists from across the nation.  Dr. Kovach has published over 100 book chapters and peer-reviewed articles and has presented her research with a focus on macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal imaging in over 100 lectures around the world.  She is the recipient of a Castle Connolly Exceptional Women in Medicine Award, an American Academy of Ophthalmology Achievement Award, and a Senior Honor Award from the American Society of Retina Specialists.

OCT Imaging: Basic Interpretation and Clinical Applications


Learner will be presented analysis and interpretation of optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging is critical for the diagnosis, monitoring, and evaluation of treatment response in retinal disease.  This lecture will review the fundamentals of OCT interpretation and highlight the characteristic OCT features of common diseases.  Basic OCT angiography interpretation will also be reviewed. 


This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of MedChi, The Maryland State Medical Society, and the Maryland Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. MedChi is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
